Our Story

A member-owned institution built on cooperation, trust and growth

Ntarinkon Cooperative Credit Union Limited — NtaCCUL — grew from a small community savings initiative in Ntarinkon-Mankon, Bamenda, into one of Cameroon’s largest cooperative financial institutions.

For more than five decades, the Union has focused on mobilising savings, providing accessible credit and expanding financial services to its members.

Our history

From a community savings group to a national union

  1. NtaCCUL traces its origins to a small discussion and savings group formed in Ntarinkon-Mankon in the early 1970s by about 15 community members.

  2. The late Elias Nde Warah was one of the central figures in the initiative and hosted some of the early meetings at his home.

  3. Members initially contributed small weekly savings, creating a cooperative system through which members could support one another financially.

  4. The organisation later developed into Ntarinkon Cooperative Credit Union and expanded its membership, professional staff, financial products and geographical reach.

  5. Today, NtaCCUL provides savings, credit and increasingly digital financial services to members across several regions of Cameroon.
